Serve from your domain
Give trckable a subdomain of your own site, point one CNAME at us, and the script and your visits are served from your domain. Then check the setup.
Instead of running a proxy yourself, you can have trckable Cloud serve the
script, your visits and your heatmap reports from a subdomain of your own site, such as
go.example.com.
Open Account, find Serve from your domain, and for each site:
- Choose a name. Pick something neutral such as
goorhello. A name withanalytics, trackorstatsin it works, but blockers list those words, so we warn you. - Add the records. We show two records for your DNS provider: a CNAME from the name you chose to our address, and a TXT record that proves the name is yours.
- Verify. Press the button. We check both records and the certificate; when both are right the name is live. A new record can take a few minutes to arrive.
- Change the tag. Use
https://go.example.com/s/x.jsas the script address and setdata-apito/s/eon the same domain; heatmap reports follow it to/s/h.
A name you added but never verified is given up after two days, so a name someone else started on your domain does not block you.
Check setup
It works for any setup, with or without a subdomain from us.
The Check setup button loads your page the way a browser does and tells you, step by step:
- your page loads,
- the trckable tag is on it, for this site,
- the script comes from your own domain (a warning, not an error, if not),
- the script arrives,
- a test visit arrives and is accepted.
Each failing step says what to change. The test visit is recognised as a robot and is not counted in your numbers.
Remove the name at any time and put your old tag back.
