Self-hosted Google Analytics alternative with revenue attribution
trckable vs Google Analytics 4: a cookieless, self-hosted GA alternative with a far smaller script, and revenue from Stripe and others credited to the visit that earned it.
Google Analytics 4 is free and does almost everything, which is also its cost: a large script, cookies that need consent in the EU, and data held by Google. This page is for sites that want the few numbers that matter, kept on their own server, with the money attached.
Who each is for
- GA4 suits teams running Google Ads, needing audiences, BigQuery export and deep event analysis, with someone to maintain it.
- trckable suits a founder or small team who wants traffic and revenue on one page, cookieless, on their own server.
Side by side
| trckable | Google Analytics 4 | |
|---|---|---|
| Self-host | 1 container, no external database | Not possible; hosted by Google only |
| RAM | 52 MB idle, measured in CI | n/a |
| Script, gzipped | 2,045 B with goals, outbound links, downloads and checkout attribution | 152,829 B for gtag/js (measured 27 Sep 2026 with a placeholder measurement id; a real property's tag varies) |
| Revenue attribution | Stripe, Lemon Squeezy, Polar, Paddle, Dodo webhooks, each payment credited to the visit that earned it, renewals included | Ecommerce events you send (purchase), no payment-provider sync |
| Cookieless | Yes, or your own bar, or read your banner | No: sets _ga and _ga_<id>, 2 years by default (Google) |
| Price | Free, self-hosted | Free; Analytics 360 is paid |
GA's figures were checked on 27 September 2026; trckable's are CI's measurements of 30 Sep 2026 (By the numbers).
Where Google Analytics is better
- It is free at any scale and hosted for you.
- Google Ads integration: conversions, audiences and bidding signals that no independent tool can match.
- Depth: explorations, user-level paths, predictive metrics and the BigQuery export are far beyond trckable's scope, deliberately.
- Everyone knows it: agencies, courses and hires already speak GA.
How to switch
- Add trckable's script next to the Google tag and run both for a week.
- Import history from GA4's BigQuery export: Migrate from Google Analytics. The export is not retroactive, so link it today even if you move later.
- Connect your payment provider in Revenue.
- Remove the Google tag, and the cookie banner if GA was its only reason.
Umami alternative with revenue attribution
trckable vs Umami: self-hosted analytics without a separate database, with payment-provider revenue attribution instead of manual revenue events. Sourced facts, and where Umami is better.
DataFast alternative, self-hosted and open source
trckable vs DataFast: the same revenue-attribution idea (which channel brought paying customers), open source and self-hostable, with a smaller script. Sourced facts, and where DataFast is better.
